DESCRIPTION: APW - Hamilton, Grade 992B, "U.S. Army" marked mvt with low serial number, 21J, 16S, chrome-plated base metal OF original case with "Ordnance Department U.S.A" and contract marking to rear, Montgomery white enamel SS dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, mono-metallic balance with Elinvar hairspring, gold center wheel, striped pattern nickel damascene, s#C304. This very early example has the lowest serial number we have encountered among a "U.S. Army" marked Grade 992B movement.
CONDITION: Mvt: NR, fully wound and will tick weakly with some excess pressure held at crown, overhaul needed, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, scattered micro-fine scratches to plates; flawless dial; excellent hands; case shows very little wear, fine scratches to rear, no dents or dings, contract markings on rear are strong, original circular finish of case rear is fully intact; tight bow, crown shows little wear; good glass crystal with one fine scratch at edge at 10.
